Malaysia Airways Review

11 APRIL 2020

Today, one of our journalists attended a flight by Malaysia Airways.

The airport is beautifully made. Compared to the real Subang Airport, this is really beautiful.

Check-In The check-in staffs were very professional, 2 staffs are able to handle about 20 passengers at a time.

Security Now there's a special thing about this airport. There is an immigration section where passengers are required to show their passports. And lastly, this airport also has a thermal imaging counter, which is just like real-life, to spot sick passengers.

Economy Waiting Area Of course, the waiting area for Economy class are always the "regular one". There are 2 stores for economy and business class passengers to enjoy. KeluargaMart (FamilyMart) and Burger King. The foods/products are really detailed.

Business Class Lounge

The lounge, which is exclusive for business class passengers, is located above the check-in booths. There's also windows from the lounge directly to the lobby. The food are also detailed and beautiful.

Boarding For economy passengers, they are directly boarded from the gate, as the waiting area is closer to the aircraft. For business passengers, they are boarded by bus, as the lounge is a bit further away from the aircraft.

The Aircraft

We were flying with the B737-800, Harimau Malaysia livery. The aircraft was very detailed, too.

The Seats

BC passengers will enjoy a more comfortable seat, which have recline features. Other than that, it is completely same as the EC passengers. For EC passengers, however, they will only have to sit in a normal EC seat with only IFE.

In-Flight Entertainment (IFE)

The IFE is very clean. There are 4 tabs available, about Malaysia Airways, the flight information, songs available and the products by Malaysia Airways. Unlike buying products in the airport, the IFE offers passengers to get the products in flight.

Takeoff

Unfortunately, there are no safety audio as Malaysia Airways is too new. The first officer were contacting with the ATC constantly, which I think is quite professional. While taxing, there was a bump which causes the aircraft to jump, well that's a bit unfortunate. But on the bright side, the take-off was very smooth.

In-Flight Service

Malaysia Airways offers Malaysian meals in-flight. I chose Nasi Lemak, brownies as my dessert and Teh Tarik as my drink. I would rate the service by the flight attendants 8 stars out of 10. I noticed that the plating are very different from the economy class, which is a new discovery.

Summary

I do think that Malaysia Airways is an excellent airline. People may think that BC is not worth it as there are not many perks compared to EC, but I do believe that Malaysia Airways will improve in the future. I do recommend people to fly with Malaysia Airways.
