The Pressure: Explained by a Politician

5 FEBRUARY 2020

Thanks for reading another post of the new series – The Explained. We know that we took quite a long time to post a new article but Sinaran Network only have a writer currently. Thank you for your patience.

The word ‘Pressure’ mentioned in the title refers to the pressure and stress politicians are facing with. We interviewed a politician from different parties for their opinion. Bolded texts are the key points picked by the writer.

Cl_ashAviator – President of Parti Sosial Demokratik

Q: What kind of pressure/stress you are facing with?

A: We’re having difficulties mostly with manpower, due to Mr. Jieren’s retirement. Most people are demoted from Parliamentary Candidate and we’re currently struggling with that. If people are interested to join us, door is always open until elections. On plans, not so bad, since we have discussed that before Mr. Jieren’s retirement. Reviving the party would be a problem though, as I said; manpower is not enough.

Q: Have you faced anything like that before in your career?

A: For me, no. I have not been a leader in Ro-Politics and it’s definitely going to be hard, with a newly-experienced guy like me.

Q: Do you think you can suppress the problem before the elections?

A: For me, hopefully. We have planned a second meeting to discuss what to be fixed before the elections. We’re gonna fix everything we can, as long we have time as we’re approaching the end of February, which is approximately the 9th General Election will take place.

Summary: PSD is facing 1 main problem, lack of manpower. In Mr.Clash’s own words, he stated that he and his administration requires to revive the party currently. Instead of facing the political opponent, PSD is facing an internal crisis. Plus, Mr.Clash is a newly-experienced politician (in his own words), he had never faced something like this before.

Unfortunately, we were unable to interview other politicians about the pressure they are facing with so we are unable to get the full view of it. However, we can take the crisis PSD is facing as our point of view. It is a great example of pressure or stress politicians face during and after the elections.
